Practice

Now it is time for you to write your own Twitter news. It can be news about the school or yourself or work or sports. Remember it is news instead of a normal Twitter posting. A few tips are listed below:

  • No more than 150 words

  • Answer who, what, when, where, why, and how

  • Facts rather than feelings

  • Use neutral descriptions

  • Try to be attractive

  • You can add hashtags

Be sure to share a screenshot or picture of your work in the Twitter discussion forum. Some advantages of posting your own work is having classmates make comments and you can see other people's work too. You will find many sources of inspirations or new ideas by sharing.

Rubric

Conduct a self-evaluation by using the rubric below. If you spend time and complete this assignment well, you can earn 6 additional points as a start!

Just let you know, the reason why there is no grammar and punctuation category under rubric is that in social media, grammar or punctuation can be different from professional reports or academic papers because there are always are some popular expressions. However, If you want to create a professional news account on Twitter, be sure there are no grammar or punctuation errors.
